Eyes on the LORD, like a servant’s on a master

¹A song of ascents. I raise my eyes to You, the one who reigns in heaven. ²Servants watch the hand of their master, and a servant woman watches the hand of the woman she serves. In the same way we keep our eyes on the LORD our God, waiting for Him to show us favor. ³Show us favor, LORD, show us favor, for we have swallowed more contempt than we can bear. ⁴We have had our fill and more of the mockery of the comfortable and the contempt of the arrogant.
