Come and see what God has done

1For the music director. A song. A psalm. \q Raise a shout to God, all the earth! 2Make music to the honor of his name; \q give him praise that is full of glory! 3Say to God, “How fearsome are your deeds! \q Because your strength is so great, \q your enemies cower and fawn before you. 4The whole earth bows low to you and sings to you; \q they make music to your name.” Selah 5Come and look at the works of God, \q how fearsome his dealings are with humankind! 6He changed the sea into dry ground; \q they crossed the river on foot. \q There let us rejoice in him! 7He reigns in his power forever, \q and his eyes watch closely over the nations. \q Let no rebels raise themselves up. Selah 8Peoples of the world, bless our God, \q and make the sound of his praise ring out, 9the one who keeps us alive \q and has not let our feet stumble. 10For you have put us to the test, God; \q you have refined us the way silver is refined. 11You led us into the trap; \q you laid a heavy weight on our backs. 12You let mere mortals ride roughshod over our heads; \q we came through fire and water, \q but you led us out into overflowing plenty. 13I will enter your house with whole burnt offerings \q and keep my vows to you, 14the promises that burst from my lips, \q that my mouth made in my time of distress. 15I will offer you burnt offerings of fattened animals, along with the smoke of rams rising to you; \q I will sacrifice bulls together with goats. Selah 16Come, listen, all who revere God; \q let me recount the things he has done for me. 17With my own mouth I called to him, \q and praise to lift him high was ready under my tongue. 18The Lord would not have heard me \q if I had kept wrongdoing in my heart. 19Yet God has indeed heard me; \q he has paid close attention as I prayed. 20Blessed be God, \q who has not pushed my prayer aside \q or taken his loyal love away from me!
