It is good to give thanks

1A psalm. A song for the Sabbath day. 2It is a good thing to thank the LORD, \q to sing and play in praise of your name, Most High, 3to tell of your loyal love at sunrise \q and of your faithfulness through the nights, 4with the ten-stringed instrument and the harp, \q to the sounding music of the lyre. 5For your deeds, LORD, have filled me with joy; \q I sing out over all that your hands have made. 6LORD, how great the things you do! \q How very deep your plans! 7Senseless people do not know it; \q fools cannot grasp this: 8though the wicked shoot up like green plants \q and all who do wrong are in bloom, \q it is only so that they may be destroyed for all time. 9But you, LORD, \q are enthroned on high for all time. 10Look at your enemies, LORD! \q Look, your enemies are doomed; \q everyone who does evil will be driven apart. 11But you have made me strong like a wild ox; \q fresh oil has been poured over me. 12My eyes have looked in triumph on those who lay in wait for me; \q my ears have heard what became of the evildoers who rose up against me. 13The righteous will thrive like the palm tree \q and rise tall as a cedar on Lebanon. 14Rooted in the LORD’s house, \q they will bloom in the courtyards of our God. 15Even when they are old they will still bear fruit; \q they will stay rich with sap and green, 16bearing witness that the LORD is just: \q my rock, in whom nothing is crooked.
