Job 26

How you have helped the powerless!

1Then Job answered: 2How you have helped the powerless! \q How you have saved the arm that has no strength! 3How you have advised one who lacks wisdom, \q and shown such a wealth of insight! 4With whose help have you uttered these words? \q Whose spirit has spoken through you? 5The spirits of the dead tremble, \q those beneath the waters and all who live there. 6Sheol lies naked before him; \q Abaddon has no covering. 7He stretches out the northern sky over empty space; \q he hangs the earth on nothing. 8He wraps up the waters in his clouds, \q yet the clouds do not burst under their weight. 9He veils the face of his throne, \q spreading his cloud over it. 10He has marked out a circle on the face of the waters \q as a boundary between light and darkness. 11The pillars of heaven tremble \q and are stunned at his rebuke. 12By his power he stirred up the sea; \q by his skill he struck Rahab down. 13By his breath the skies became clear; \q his hand pierced the fleeing serpent. 14Look, these are only the outer edges of his ways; \q how faint the whisper we hear of him! \q But the thunder of his power, who can understand it?
