The temple furnishings
1He made a bronze altar about 30 feet long, about 30 feet wide and about 15 feet high.
2He made the Sea of cast metal. It was round, about 15 feet from brim to brim and about 7 1/2 feet high, and it took a line of about 45 feet to measure around it. 3Under its brim were figures of oxen all around it, ten to every 18 inches, encircling the Sea. The oxen were in two rows, cast in one piece with it.a 4It stood on twelve oxen: three faced north, three west, three south and three east. The Sea was set on top of them, and their hindquarters were all toward the center. 5It was about 3 inches thick, and its brim was made like the brim of a cup, like a lily blossom. It could take in and hold about 18,000 gallons.bc
6He also made ten basins for washing and put five on the south side and five on the north. In them they rinsed what was used for the burnt offering, but the Sea was for the priests to wash in.
7He made the ten gold lampstands as they were prescribed and put them in the main hall, five along the south side and five along the north.
8He made ten tables and placed them in the main hall, five along the south side and five along the north. He also made one hundred sprinkling bowls of gold. 9He made the court of the priests and the great court, with doors for the court, and he overlaid their doors with bronze. 10He put the Sea on the south side, at the southeast corner. 11Huram also made the pots, the shovels and the sprinkling bowls. So Huram finished the work that he did for King Solomon on the house of God: 12the two pillars; the two bowl-shaped capitals on top of the pillars; the two networks covering the two bowls of the capitals on top of the pillars; 13the four hundred pomegranates for the two networks, in two rows on each network, covering the two bowls of the capitals on top of the pillars; 14the stands, with the basins he made for the stands; 15the one Sea, with the twelve oxen under it; 16and the pots, the shovels and the meat forks. All these things that Huram-abi made for King Solomon for the house of the LORD were of polished bronze.d 17The king cast them in the clay ground of the Jordan plain, between Succoth and Zeredah.e 18Solomon made all these things in such great numbers that the weight of the bronze was never found out.
The gold furnishings
19Solomon also made all the furnishings of the house of God: the altar of gold; the tables for the bread of the Presence; 20the lampstands and their lamps of pure gold, to burn in front of the inner sanctuary as prescribed; 21the flowers, the lamps and the tongs of gold, the finest gold; 22the wick trimmers, the sprinkling bowls, the dishes and the firepans of pure gold; and the entrance of the house, its inner doors to the most holy place and the doors of the house to the main hall, of gold.
