Rebellion’s whisper and God’s wide love

1For the music director. Of the servant of the LORD, of David. 2Deep in my heart I hear what rebellion says to the wicked: they have no dread of God before their eyes. 3For they flatter themselves in their own sight too much to see their own guilt and hate it. 4What they say is evil and lies; they have given up being wise and doing good. 5Even lying in bed they plot evil; they set themselves on a path that leads nowhere good and never turn away from wrong. 6LORD, Your loyal love reaches up into the heavens, Your faithfulness as high as the clouds. 7Your righteousness stands like the mighty mountains; Your judgments are deep as the ocean depths. LORD, You rescue people and animals alike. 8God, how precious Your loyal love is! All kinds of people make You their refuge, sheltering in the shade of Your wings. 9They are filled with the rich food of Your house; You let them drink from Your stream of joys. 10For the spring of life is with You; it is Your light that lets us see light. 11Keep showing Your loyal love to all who know You, and show Your righteousness to people whose hearts are upright. 12Do not let the foot of the proud trample me, or the hand of the wicked push me away. 13There the evildoers have fallen; they have been knocked down and cannot stand up again.
