Псалом 30

Mourning turned into dancing

¹A psalm. A song for the dedication of the house. Of David. ²I will praise You as high above all, LORD, because You drew me up as from a well and did not give my enemies the joy of seeing me fall. ³LORD, my God, I shouted to You for help, and You made me well. ⁴LORD, You brought me back up from Sheol; You kept me alive and did not let me sink into the pit.^{a 5}Make music to the LORD, all you who are loyal to Him; give thanks as you call to mind His holy name. ⁶For His anger is over in a moment, but in His favor there is life; weeping may come to spend the night, but at dawn there are shouts of joy.^{b 7}When things were going well for me, I said, “Nothing will ever shake me.” ⁸LORD, in Your kindness You had made me firm as a mountain; then You hid Your face, and I was overcome with fear.^{c 9}I called out to You, LORD; I begged the Lord for mercy. ¹⁰“What would anyone gain from my death, from my going down into the pit? Can dust give thanks to You? Can it speak of how faithful You are? ¹¹Listen, LORD, and show me grace; LORD, come and help me.” ¹²You have changed my lament into dancing; You took off my sackcloth and dressed me in joy, ¹³so that with all that is in me I may make music to You and not keep quiet. LORD my God, I will give You thanks for all time.^d
