Carry one another’s burdens
1Brothers and sisters, suppose someone is caught out in some wrongdoing. You who are spiritual must set that person right again, and do it with a gentle spirit. Keep an eye on yourself as you do, in case you are tempted too. 2Take up one another’s heavy loads, and so you will fulfill the law of Christ. 3For those who think they are something when they are nothing are only fooling themselves. 4Each of you should examine your own conduct. Then any pride you take will be in what you yourself have done, not in how you compare with someone else. 5For each of you will have your own load to carry.
You will reap what you sow
6Those who are being taught the word must share all their good things with the one who teaches them. 7Do not let anyone mislead you: God is not to be sneered at. Whatever people sow, that is what they will reap. 8Those who sow into their own flesh will gather a harvest of decay from the flesh; those who sow into the Spirit will gather from the Spirit a harvest of eternal life. 9We must not tire of doing good. When the right time comes we will bring in the harvest, as long as we do not slacken. 10So whenever we have the chance, we should do good to everyone, and above all to those who belong to the family of faith.
Paul’s last words in his own hand
11Notice what large letters I make as I write to you in my own hand.a 12The people who want to make a fine impression in the flesh are the ones pressing you to be circumcised. They have one motive: they do not want to suffer persecution because of the cross of Christ. 13For even these circumcised people do not themselves obey the law. What they want is your circumcision, so that your flesh can be something for them to boast about.b 14But far be it from me to boast of anything except the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ. Through that cross the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world. 15For circumcision is nothing, and uncircumcision is nothing; the one thing that matters is a new creation.cd 16May peace and mercy be on all who live in line with this rule, and on the Israel of God.e
17Let no one give me any more trouble from now on, for I carry on my body the marks that show I belong to Jesus.
18Brothers and sisters, may the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit. Amen.
