Thi Thiên 21

The king rejoices in the LORD’s strength

¹For the music director. A psalm of David. ²LORD, the king takes delight in your strength; your saving help fills him with overflowing joy! ³What his heart longed for, you have given him; what his lips asked, you have not held back. Selah ⁴Indeed, you go out to greet him with good gifts and blessings; on his head you set a crown of refined gold. ⁵He asked for life, and you granted it, days stretching on forever and ever. ⁶Because you rescued him, his honor stands high; you lay royal splendor and majesty on him. ⁷For you make him a blessing that never ends; you fill him with gladness in your presence. ⁸The king relies on the LORD, and because of the loyal love of the Most High, nothing will shake him. ⁹Your hand will reach all your enemies; your right hand will track down all who hate you.^{a 10}When you come against them, you will make them like a blazing oven; in his anger the LORD will swallow them, and fire will eat them up.^{b 11}You will wipe out their offspring from the earth, their line from among all people. ¹²Though they aim evil at you and hatch their schemes, they will not get their way. ¹³For you will put them to flight; you will set arrows to your bowstring and aim at their faces. ¹⁴Rise high in your strength, LORD! We will sing and make music in praise of your power.
