A king’s vow of integrity
1Of David. A psalm. Loyal love and justice will be my song; LORD, I will make music for you. 2I will take care to keep to the blameless way. When will you come to me? Inside my own house I will live with an undivided heart. 3I will not fix my eyes on anything vile. I hate the deeds of those who turn away; they will get no hold on me. 4A crooked heart will stay far from me; I will not keep company with evil. 5Anyone who secretly slanders a neighbor I will destroy; anyone with lofty eyes and a swollen heart I will not put up with. 6I will watch for those in the land who are faithful and bring them to live with me; those who walk the blameless way will be my servants. 7Deceivers will find no home in my house; liars will not keep their place in my sight. 8Each morning I will make an end of the wicked in the land, and rid the city of the LORD of all who do wrong.
