When Israel came out of Egypt
1When Israel left Egypt, when the house of Jacob left a people whose speech was strange to them, 2Judah became his holy place, Israel the realm he rules. 3The sea looked and ran away; the Jordan turned and flowed back. 4The mountains sprang about like rams, the hills like lambs from the flock. 5What is wrong, sea, that you run away? Jordan, why do you turn back? 6Mountains, why do you spring about like rams, and you hills, like lambs from the flock? 7Earth, shake with fear before the Lord, before the God of Jacob, 8who changed the rock into a pool of water, and hard flint into a flowing spring.
