Shelter in the shadow of your wings

1For the music director. To the tune “Do Not Destroy.” Of David. A miktam, when he fled from Saul into the cave. 2Show me grace, God, show me grace, \q for I have made you my refuge; \q I will shelter under the shadow of your wings \q until the time of ruin is over. 3I call on God Most High, \q the God who carries out his plan for me. 4He will reach down from heaven and rescue me, \q and disgrace the one who hounds me; \q God will send forth his loyal love and his faithfulness. Selah 5I am surrounded by lions; I must lie down among people who devour like beasts. \q Their teeth are spear points and arrows, \q their tongues a sharpened sword. 6God, be lifted high above the heavens; \q let your glory spread over all the earth. 7They laid a net for my steps, and I sank down in despair; \q they hollowed out a pit ahead of me, \q and into it they fell. Selah 8My heart is firm, God, my heart is firm; \q I will sing and play songs of praise. 9Rouse yourself, my soul! \q Come awake, harp and lyre! \q I will wake up the dawn. 10Lord, I will thank you before all peoples; \q I will sing your praise in every nation. 11For your loyal love towers up to the heavens, \q and your faithfulness rises to the clouds. 12God, be lifted high above the heavens; \q let your glory spread over all the earth.
