Living among people who hate peace
1A song of ascents. When I was in trouble I cried out to the LORD, and he gave me an answer. 2LORD, rescue me from people whose lips tell lies, whose tongues deceive. 3You deceitful tongue, what will he give you, and what more will he heap on you? 4Sharpened arrows from a fighter’s bow, and hot coals of broom wood! 5How miserable I am, living as a foreigner in Meshech, making my home among the tents of Kedar! 6For far too long I have had to live beside people who hate peace. 7I stand for peace, but when I open my mouth, they choose war.
