Bow to the King; listen today
1Come, let us sing out with joy to the LORD \q and raise a glad shout to the Rock who saves us. 2Let us go out to meet him with thanks, \q and lift a glad shout to him in our songs. 3For the LORD is a mighty God, \q a mighty King high over all gods, 4who holds the deep places of the earth in his hand; \q the tops of the mountains are his as well, 5the sea belongs to him because he made it, \q and his hands shaped the dry ground. 6Come, let us bow down to the ground and bend low; \q let us kneel in front of the LORD, the one who made us. 7For it is he who is our God, \q and we are a people he pastures, a flock he tends with his own hand. \q Oh, that today you would listen to his voice!a 8“Do not let your hearts grow hard, as happened at Meribah, \q on the day of Massah out in the desert, 9when your ancestors put me to the test \q and challenged me, even after they had watched my work. 10Forty years long I was weary and disgusted with that generation. \q I said, ‘These are people whose hearts wander off; \q they have never learned my ways.’ 11So in my anger I took an oath: \q ‘They will never come into my place of rest.’”
