Do not bring your servant to trial

1A psalm of David. LORD, hear my prayer; listen as I plead for mercy. Answer me in your faithfulness and in your righteousness. 2Do not bring your servant to trial, for no living person can be found in the right before you. 3The enemy has hunted me down and ground my life into the dust; he has left me to live in dark places, like people dead for ages. 4My spirit sinks within me, and my heart is stunned inside me. 5I recall the days long past; I think over all that you have done and reflect on what your hands have made. 6I hold out my hands to you; my whole being waits for you like ground worn out by drought. Selah 7LORD, hurry and answer me; my spirit is failing. Do not keep your face hidden from me, or I will become one of those who sink into the pit. 8Each morning let me hear of your loyal love, since you are the one I rely on. Teach me which road to walk, for my whole being reaches up to you. 9Snatch me from my enemies, LORD; I have taken cover with you. 10Teach me to do what pleases you, since you are my God. May your Spirit, who is good, guide me across even ground. 11LORD, for the honor of your name, keep me alive; in your righteousness lead me out of my distress. 12In your loyal love you will put an end to my enemies and wipe out all who attack my life, for I am your servant.
