The LORD who counts stars and heals
1Praise the LORD! It is good to make music for our God; it is a delight, and praise is fitting. 2The LORD is rebuilding Jerusalem; he is bringing together Israel’s scattered exiles. 3He heals those whose hearts are crushed and bandages their injuries. 4He decides how many stars there are and gives each one its name. 5Our Lord is great and mighty in power; there is no measuring his understanding. 6The LORD lifts up the lowly and throws the wicked down to the earth. 7Sing out to the LORD with thanks; make music for our God on the lyre, 8who wraps the sky in clouds, who gets rain ready for the land, who makes grass sprout on the mountains, 9who gives the beasts their food and feeds the raven’s chicks when they call. 10It is not the power of the horse that delights him, nor a soldier’s strong legs that please him. 11What pleases the LORD is people who revere him and look with hope to his loyal love. 12Jerusalem, glorify the LORD! Zion, praise your God! 13For he has made the bars of your gates strong and has blessed your children inside your walls. 14He keeps your frontiers at peace and satisfies you with the richest wheat. 15He issues his orders to the earth, and his word goes out at a run. 16He sends snow that lies like wool and strews frost like ash. 17He flings down his ice in pieces like crumbs; who can hold out against his cold? 18He sends his word, and the ice thaws; he sets his wind blowing, and the waters run. 19He makes his words known to Jacob, his statutes and his rulings to Israel. 20No other nation has he treated this way; his rulings are unknown to them. Praise the LORD!
