Out of the depths, waiting for the Lord
1A song of ascents. From the deep waters I call to you, LORD. 2Lord, listen to me as I call! Turn your ears toward my cry for mercy. 3LORD, if you kept count of every wrong, Lord, who could stand before you? 4But forgiveness is found with you, and so you are held in awe. 5I am waiting for the LORD; with all that I am I wait, and I hope in what he has promised. 6I long for the Lord more than night guards long for the morning, yes, more than night guards for the morning. 7Israel, wait in hope for the LORD! For loyal love is found with the LORD, and with him is redemption in full measure. 8It is he who will redeem Israel from all its wrongs.
