The peace offering

1If someone’s offering is a peace offering and they present an animal from the herd, it may be male or female, but it must be without defect when they present it before the LORD. 2The worshiper is to lay their hand on the animal’s head and slaughter it at the entrance of the tent of meeting. Then Aaron’s sons, the priests, are to splash the blood on every side of the altar. 3From the peace offering the worshiper is to present a food offering to the LORD: the fat that covers the internal organs and all the fat on them, 4the two kidneys with the fat on them by the lower back, and the long lobe of the liver, which is to be taken out together with the kidneys. 5Aaron’s sons are to turn these parts into smoke on the altar, laying them over the burnt offering on the wood of the fire. It is a food offering, a soothing aroma to the LORD.

6If the peace offering to the LORD comes from the flock, the animal presented may be male or female, but it must be without defect. 7If the offering is a lamb, the worshiper is to present it before the LORD. 8The worshiper is to lay their hand on its head and slaughter it in front of the tent of meeting, and Aaron’s sons are to splash its blood on every side of the altar. 9From the peace offering the worshiper is to present a food offering to the LORD: its fat, that is, the whole fat tail, taken off right at the backbone, the fat that covers the internal organs and all the fat on them, 10the two kidneys with the fat on them by the lower back, and the long lobe of the liver, which is to be taken out together with the kidneys. 11The priest is to turn it all into smoke on the altar as food, a food offering to the LORD.

12If the offering is a goat, the worshiper is to present it before the LORD. 13The worshiper is to lay their hand on its head and slaughter it in front of the tent of meeting, and Aaron’s sons are to splash its blood on every side of the altar. 14From it the worshiper is to present their offering, a food offering to the LORD: the fat that covers the internal organs and all the fat on them, 15the two kidneys with the fat on them by the lower back, and the long lobe of the liver, which is to be taken out together with the kidneys. 16The priest is to turn them into smoke on the altar as food, a food offering and a soothing aroma. All the fat belongs to the LORD. 17Do not eat any fat or any blood. This is a permanent rule for all your generations, wherever you live.’”
