My rock, do not be silent
1Of David. I call to you, LORD; my rock, do not refuse to hear me. For if you say nothing to me, I will be like those who sink into the pit. 2Listen to my voice as I beg for mercy and cry to you for help, as I raise my hands toward the innermost room of your holy house. 3Do not haul me away along with the wicked and the evildoers, who wish their neighbors peace while they plan harm in their hearts. 4Pay them back for what they do, for the evil of their actions; give them what their hands have earned; let what they deserve come back on them. 5Because they pay no attention to what the LORD does or to what his hands have made, he will pull them down and not raise them up again. 6Blessed is the LORD, because he has listened to my voice as I pleaded. 7The LORD is my strength, the shield that protects me; my heart trusted in him, and help came to me. Now my heart is full of joy, and I will thank him in song. 8The LORD is their strength; he is the fortress where his anointed one finds rescue.a 9Rescue your people, bless those who belong to you; be a shepherd to them and carry them in your arms for all time.
