A shield all around me

1A psalm of David, when he fled from his son Absalom. 2LORD, how my enemies have multiplied! \q Many are rising up against me. 3Many are saying about me, \q “God is not going to rescue him.” Selah 4But you, LORD, are a shield on every side of me. \q You are my glory, and you lift my head up again. 5I lift my voice and call to the LORD, \q and from his holy mountain he answers me. Selah 6I lay down and fell asleep, \q and I woke up again, \q because the LORD holds me up. 7I have no fear of the tens of thousands \q who have taken up positions against me on every side. 8Rise up, LORD! Rescue me, my God! \q For you have struck all my enemies across the jaw \q and smashed the teeth of the wicked. 9It is the LORD who saves. \q Let your blessing rest on your people. Selah
