God, save me by your name
1For the music director. With stringed instruments. A maskil of David, 2when the people of Ziph came and said to Saul, “David is hiding among us, is he not?” 3God, save me by your name; \q by your strength take up my cause. 4God, listen to my prayer; \q pay attention to what I am saying. 5For outsiders have risen up against me, \q and violent people are hunting for my life; \q they give God no thought. Selaha 6But see, God comes to my aid; \q the Lord is the one who holds my life up. 7He will turn back the harm on my enemies; \q because you are faithful, wipe them out. 8I will offer you a sacrifice of my own free will; \q LORD, I will thank you and honor your name, for it is good. 9For he has pulled me out of every trouble, \q and my eyes have seen my enemies defeated.
