God, save me by your name

¹For the music director. With stringed instruments. A maskil of David, ²when the people of Ziph came and said to Saul, “David is hiding among us, is he not?” ³God, save me by your name; by your strength take up my cause. ⁴God, listen to my prayer; pay attention to what I am saying. ⁵For outsiders have risen up against me, and violent people are hunting for my life; they give God no thought. Selah ⁶But see, God comes to my aid; the Lord is the one who holds my life up. ⁷He will turn back the harm on my enemies; because you are faithful, wipe them out. ⁸I will offer you a sacrifice of my own free will; LORD, I will thank you and honor your name, for it is good. ⁹For he has pulled me out of every trouble, and my eyes have seen my enemies defeated.
