Loyal love and faithfulness meet
1For the music director. Of the sons of Korah. A psalm. 2You were pleased with your land, LORD; \q you brought Jacob’s fortunes back.a 3You took away the guilt of your people \q and covered over all their sins. Selah 4You drew back all your fury; \q you turned away from your blazing anger. 5Bring us back, God who saves us, \q and put an end to your displeasure with us. 6Will you be angry with us for all time? \q Will you stretch out your anger to every generation? 7Will you not bring us back to life once more, \q and let your people be glad in you? 8Let us see your loyal love, LORD, \q and give us your salvation. 9I am listening for what God, the LORD, will say: \q he will speak of peace to his people, to those who are loyal to him; \q only let them not slide back into foolishness.b 10Truly his salvation is close at hand for those who fear him, \q so that glory will settle in our land. 11Loyal love and faithfulness meet as friends; \q righteousness and peace greet each other with a kiss. 12Faithfulness grows up out of the earth, \q and righteousness gazes down from heaven. 13The LORD will surely give good things, \q and our soil will bring forth its crops. 14Righteousness will walk ahead of him \q and make a road for his steps.
