God breaks the weapons at Zion
1For the music director. With stringed instruments. A psalm of Asaph. A song. 2God has made himself known in Judah; \q his name stands high in Israel. 3His lair is set in Salem, \q his den in Zion. 4There he shattered the fiery shafts of the bow, \q shield and sword and all the gear of battle. Selah 5You shine with light, \q in greater splendor than the mountains of prey.a 6The brave were stripped bare; they dropped into their final sleep, \q and not one of the warriors could find a hand to raise. 7When you rebuked them, God of Jacob, \q chariot and horse sank into a stupor. 8You, yes, you are to be feared! \q When your anger blazes, \q who can hold out in your presence? 9From heaven you announced your verdict; \q the earth was afraid and fell silent, 10when God stood up to give judgment \q and to rescue all the lowly on earth. Selah 11Even human fury will end in praise for you; \q what is left of it you will tie on like a belt.b 12Vow to the LORD your God, and keep what you vow; \q let all who surround him \q bring tribute to the One who inspires fear. 13He cuts short the breath of princes; \q the kings of the earth stand in fear of him.
