The voice of the LORD in the storm
1A psalm of David. Acknowledge the LORD, you heavenly beings; acknowledge that glory and strength belong to the LORD.a 2Acknowledge the glory that belongs to the name of the LORD; bow before the LORD in holy splendor.b 3The voice of the LORD sounds over the waters; the glorious God thunders; the LORD is above the vast waters. 4The voice of the LORD is mighty; the voice of the LORD is splendid as a king. 5The voice of the LORD snaps cedar trees; the LORD smashes the cedars of Lebanon to pieces. 6He sets Lebanon jumping like a calf and Sirion bucking like a young wild ox. 7The voice of the LORD carves out flames of fire. 8The voice of the LORD sets the desert trembling; the LORD makes the Kadesh desert quake. 9The voice of the LORD brings the does to labor and leaves the woods stripped; and in his temple everyone shouts, “Glory!”c 10The LORD sat on his throne above the flood; the LORD is seated as King for all time. 11The LORD will make his people strong; the LORD will give his people the blessing of peace.
