Your name across the whole earth

¹For the music director. On the gittith. A psalm of David. ²LORD, our Lord, how glorious is your name across the whole earth! Your splendor reaches higher than the heavens.^{a 3}Out of the mouths of children and babies at the breast you have built a stronghold against your foes, to silence the enemy and the one bent on revenge.^{b 4}When I look up at your heavens, which your fingers made, at the moon and stars you have fixed in their places, ⁵what are human beings, that you keep them in mind, mere mortals, that you look after them? ⁶You made them only a little less than God and set a crown of glory and honor on them.^{c 7}You made them rulers over all that your hands have made; you put everything under their feet: ⁸sheep and cattle, all of them, and the wild animals too, ⁹the birds of the air and the fish of the sea, and everything that travels the paths of the seas. ¹⁰LORD, our Lord, how glorious is your name across the whole earth!
