the LORD guards your going and coming

¹A song of ascents. \q I look up to the mountains. \q Where will my help come from? ²My help is from the LORD, \q the one who made heaven and earth. ³May he never let your foot stumble; \q may the one who guards you never doze.^{a 4}Indeed, the one who guards Israel \q never dozes off and never sleeps. ⁵The LORD is the one who guards you; \q The LORD is shade at your right side. ⁶By day the sun will not beat down on you, \q and by night the moon will do you no harm. ⁷The LORD will guard you against every harm; \q he will guard your very life. ⁸The LORD will guard you as you set out and as you return, \q from now on and for all time.
