የተወሰነው የእንግሊዝኛ አገላለጽ ያልተጠቀመባቸው ዓረፍተ ነገሮች፣ ምክንያቱን ከሚያብራራው ውሳኔ ጋር።

entrust himself: commit himself to them, rely on them This is the same verb as “believed” in verse 23. With an object and a person it means to entrust something to someone (Luke 16:11). John plays on the two senses: many believed in him, but he did not entrust himself to them. Since one word cannot carry both senses here, a footnote points out the wordplay.

የተወሰነው የእንግሊዝኛ አገላለጽ ያልተጠቀመባቸው ደረጃዎች፦ ቃል በቃል, ሚዛናዊ, ቀላል

entrust himself (L); trust himself to them (B); trust them (R) The verb cannot be “believe” here and still make sense. “Trust” keeps as much of the echo of verse 23 as possible; Readable says the plain meaning.

God has trusted me (R) Readable names the one who entrusted the task (m2).

  5. ገላትያ 2:7

As for those who were regarded as important (what they once were makes no difference to me, since God is not swayed by a person’s standing), those leaders added nothing to my message. On the contrary, they saw that I had been entrusted with the gospel for the uncircumcised, just as Peter had been for the circumcised. For God, who was at work in Peter to make him an apostle to the circumcised, was also at work in me for the Gentiles. James, Cephas and John, who were regarded as pillars, recognized the grace that had been given to me, and they gave Barnabas and me the right hand of fellowship. We agreed that we would go to the Gentiles and they to the circumcised.

With an object it means to be entrusted with something (1 Thessalonians 2:4; 1 Timothy 1:11). The passive leaves God as the one who gave the trust, as verse 8 makes plain.

የተወሰነው የእንግሊዝኛ አገላለጽ ያልተጠቀመባቸው ደረጃዎች፦ ቃል በቃል, ሚዛናዊ, ቀላል

entrusted with: given in trust πιστεύω usually means “believe”, but in the passive with an object it means to be entrusted with something (Galatians 2:7; 1 Thessalonians 2:4).

From Paul, a servant of God and an apostle of Jesus Christ. I was sent to bring God’s chosen people to faith and to the knowledge of the truth that leads to godliness, a faith and knowledge resting on the hope of eternal life. God, who never lies, promised this life before eternal ages began, and at the right time he made his word known through the preaching entrusted to me by the command of God our Savior. To Titus, my true son in the faith we share: grace and peace from God the Father and Christ Jesus our Savior.

  64. ዮሐንስ 12:44

Then Jesus called out, “Anyone who believes in me believes not just in me, but in the one who sent me. And anyone who sees me sees the one who sent me.

  65. ዮሐንስ 12:46

I have come as a light into the world, so that whoever believes in me will not remain in the darkness.

  66. ዮሐንስ 13:19

From now on I am telling you before it happens, so that when it does happen you will believe that I am.

  67. ዮሐንስ 14:1

“Do not let your hearts be troubled. Believe in God, and believe in me as well.

  68. ዮሐንስ 14:10

Do you not believe that I am in the Father, and that the Father is in me?

  69. ዮሐንስ 14:11

Believe me: I am in the Father, and the Father is in me. If not, then believe because of the works themselves.

  70. ዮሐንስ 14:12

Truly, truly, I tell you, anyone who believes in me will also do the works I am doing, and will do greater works than these, since I am going to the Father.

  71. ዮሐንስ 14:29

I have told you now, before it takes place, so that when it does take place you will believe.

  72. ዮሐንስ 16:9

    about sin, because they do not believe in me;

  73. ዮሐንስ 16:27

For the Father himself loves you, since you have loved me and believed that I came out from God.

  74. ዮሐንስ 16:30

Now we know that you know all things and do not need anyone to put questions to you. This is why we believe that you came out from God.”

  75. ዮሐንስ 16:31

Jesus answered them, “Do you believe now?

  76. ዮሐንስ 17:8

For I have passed on to them the words you gave me, and they have accepted them. They have come to know for certain that I came from you, and they believe that it was you who sent me.

  77. ዮሐንስ 17:20 ዮሐንስ 17:21

I am not asking on behalf of these alone. My prayer is also for those who are going to believe in me through their message. Father, I ask that all of them may be one. Just as you are in me and I am in you, so may they too be in us, so that the world may come to believe that you sent me.

  78. ዮሐንስ 19:35

The one who saw this has testified to it, and his testimony is true. He knows that what he says is true, and he has told it so that you also may believe.

  79. ዮሐንስ 20:8

Then the other disciple, who had arrived at the tomb first, went in too; and he saw and believed.

  80. ዮሐንስ 20:25

But he told them, “I will never believe it unless I see the marks the nails made in his hands, and put my finger into those marks, and put my hand into his side.”

  81. ዮሐንስ 20:29

Jesus said to him, “Have you believed because you have seen me?

  82. ዮሐንስ 20:29

Blessed are those who have believed without having seen.”

  83. ዮሐንስ 20:31

These, though, are written down so that you may believe Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and by believing have life in his name.

Everyone who believed kept together and treated all they had as shared. They would sell off land and goods and divide the money among all, according to what each one needed.

  2. የሐዋርያት ሥራ 4:4

Even so, many who heard the message came to believe, and the count of men rose to about 5,000.

  3. የሐዋርያት ሥራ 4:32

The whole company of believers shared a single heart and soul. Not one of them treated anything they owned as theirs alone; everything they had belonged to them all.

  4. የሐዋርያት ሥራ 5:14

None of the others dared to associate with them, yet the people thought highly of them. Still more believers were brought to the Lord, great numbers of men and women alike.

  5. የሐዋርያት ሥራ 8:12

But when Philip announced the good news of God’s kingdom and of the name of Jesus Christ, they believed him, and both men and women were baptized.

Every one of the prophets bears witness to him: whoever believes in him has their sins forgiven through his name.”

If, then, God gave them the same gift as he gave us when we came to believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, who was I? Could I hinder God?”

The hand of the Lord was with them, and a large number who believed turned to the Lord.

  12. የሐዋርያት ሥራ 13:12

The proconsul, seeing what had taken place, believed. He was struck with amazement at the teaching about the Lord.

  13. የሐዋርያት ሥራ 13:39

So, brothers and sisters, you must know this: through this man forgiveness of sins is being announced to you, and from everything the law of Moses could not acquit you of, everyone who believes is acquitted through him.

  14. የሐዋርያት ሥራ 13:41

‘See, you who scorn, be astonished and vanish! For I am doing a work in your days, a work you would never believe, even if someone explained it to you.’”

  15. የሐዋርያት ሥራ 13:48

When the Gentiles heard this, they rejoiced and glorified the word of the Lord, and all who had been appointed to eternal life believed.

  16. የሐዋርያት ሥራ 14:1

In Iconium the two of them went together into the synagogue of the Jews. They spoke in such a way that a large crowd of Jews and Greeks believed.

  17. የሐዋርያት ሥራ 14:23

In each church they appointed elders for the believers, and after praying and fasting, they placed them in the care of the Lord in whom they had believed.

  18. የሐዋርያት ሥራ 15:5

Then some from the party of the Pharisees who had believed stood up and insisted, “These Gentiles have to be circumcised, and they must be ordered to keep the law of Moses.”

  19. የሐዋርያት ሥራ 15:7

After a long debate, Peter rose and spoke to them: “Brothers, you know that in the early days God made his choice among you: through my mouth the Gentiles were to hear the message of the gospel and come to believe. God, who knows every heart, bore witness to them by giving them the Holy Spirit, as he did for us as well. He made no difference at all between us and them, for he cleansed their hearts by faith.

  20. የሐዋርያት ሥራ 15:11

No, we believe that we are saved through the grace of the Lord Jesus, and they are saved in just the same way.”

  21. የሐዋርያት ሥራ 16:31

They answered, “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved, you and your household.”

  22. የሐዋርያት ሥራ 16:34

Even at that hour of the night he took them and bathed their wounds, and straightaway he was baptized together with all his family. Leading them up into his house, he spread a table for them, and the whole household rejoiced with him, now that he had believed in God.

  23. የሐዋርያት ሥራ 17:12

So many of them believed, along with a good number of Greek women of standing, and of men as well.

  24. የሐዋርያት ሥራ 17:34

Crispus, who led the synagogue, believed in the Lord, and so did everyone in his household. Many other people in Corinth heard the message, believed and were baptized.

  26. የሐዋርያት ሥራ 18:27

Apollos planned to go across to Achaia, and the brothers and sisters encouraged him in it. They wrote to the disciples there, asking them to welcome him. Once he came, he gave much help to those who had come to believe through grace,

  27. የሐዋርያት ሥራ 19:2

While Apollos was in Corinth, Paul made his way through the inland regions and came down to Ephesus. There he came upon some disciples and asked them, “When you came to believe, did you receive the Holy Spirit?”

  28. የሐዋርያት ሥራ 19:4

Paul said, “The baptism John performed marked people’s repentance, and he told the people to believe in the one who would come after him, namely Jesus.”

  29. የሐዋርያት ሥራ 19:18

Many who had believed began coming forward to confess and to disclose their practices.

  30. የሐዋርያት ሥራ 21:20

  31. የሐዋርያት ሥራ 21:25

For the Gentiles who have come to believe, we have already written what we decided: they are to avoid meat sacrificed to idols, and blood, and anything strangled, and sexual immorality.”

  32. የሐዋርያት ሥራ 22:19

I answered, ‘Lord, these people know well what I did. In one synagogue after another I had those who believe in you locked up and beaten.

  33. የሐዋርያት ሥራ 24:14

This much I do acknowledge before you: it is as one who follows the Way, which they call a sect, that I serve the God of our ancestors. I believe all that accords with the law and all that stands written in the Prophets. My hope rests on God, and these men look for it too: that a resurrection is coming, of the righteous and the unrighteous alike.

  1. ሮሜ 1:16

I am not ashamed of the gospel. It is God’s own power at work to save everyone who believes, the Jew first and the Greek as well.

  2. ሮሜ 3:2

To begin with, the Jews were entrusted with the very words of God.

የተወሰነው የእንግሊዝኛ አገላለጽ ያልተጠቀመባቸው ደረጃዎች፦ ቃል በቃል, ሚዛናዊ, ቀላል

were entrusted with πιστεύω usually means to believe or trust. In the passive with an object it means to be entrusted with something, as Paul says he was entrusted with the gospel (1 Thessalonians 2:4).

  3. ሮሜ 3:22

But now God’s righteousness has come to light apart from the law, though the Law and the Prophets bear witness to it. It is God’s righteousness through faith in Jesus Christ, for all who believe. No one is treated differently.

  4. ሮሜ 4:3

“Abraham believed God, and that was counted to him as righteousness.”

  5. ሮሜ 4:5

But to someone who does no work, yet believes in the God who declares the ungodly righteous, that faith is counted as righteousness. David says the same when he speaks of the happiness of the one whom God counts as righteous apart from works:

  6. ሮሜ 4:11

Circumcision was given to him afterward as a sign, a seal on the righteousness that was already his by faith before he was circumcised. In this way he is father to everyone who believes without being circumcised, so that righteousness is counted to them. And he is father to the circumcised as well: not to those who are merely circumcised, but to those who walk the same road of faith our father Abraham walked while still uncircumcised.

  7. ሮሜ 4:17

So the promise comes through faith, in order that it may rest on grace and stand firm for every one of Abraham’s offspring: not only for those who belong to the law, but also for those who belong to the faith of Abraham, the father of all of us. Scripture says, “I have made you father of many nations.” Before God he is our father, the God he believed, who brings the dead to life and calls into being things that do not exist.

  8. ሮሜ 4:18

Hoping when there was no ground for hope, Abraham believed, and so he became the father of many nations, as God had said to him, “That is how many your offspring will be.”

  9. ሮሜ 4:24

The words “it was counted to him” were not written for Abraham alone, but for us as well. It will be counted to us who believe in the God who raised Jesus our Lord from the dead. Jesus was handed over to die because of our trespasses, and he was raised so that we would be declared righteous.

  10. ሮሜ 6:8

Now if we died along with Christ, we believe we are also going to share in his life.

  11. ሮሜ 9:33

Because they did not pursue it by faith, but as though it came by works. They stumbled over the stone that makes people stumble, as it is written, “See, I am setting in Zion a stone to stumble on, a rock that makes them fall, and whoever believes in him will not be put to shame.”

  12. ሮሜ 10:4

For Christ is the end of the law, bringing righteousness to everyone who believes.

  13. ሮሜ 10:9

If you declare with your lips that Jesus is Lord, and in your heart believe that God raised him from the dead, then you will be saved.

  14. ሮሜ 10:10

For people believe with the heart, and this leads to righteousness; they confess with the mouth, and this leads to salvation.

  15. ሮሜ 10:11

For the Scripture says, “Whoever believes in him will not be put to shame.”

  16. ሮሜ 10:14

How, then, are they to call on him if they have not believed in him?

  17. ሮሜ 10:14

And how are they to believe in him if they have never heard him?

  18. ሮሜ 10:16

But not all have obeyed the gospel. Isaiah asks, “Lord, who has believed what we have told?”

  19. ሮሜ 13:11

Do this because you know what time it is: it is already time for you to wake up out of sleep. Our salvation is closer now than it was when we first believed.

  20. ሮሜ 14:2

One person believes it is right to eat anything, while another, who is weak, eats only vegetables.

  21. ሮሜ 15:13

May the God of hope fill you with joy and peace of every kind as you believe, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you overflow with hope.

For it is we who have believed who enter that rest, just as he has said, “So in my anger I swore an oath: ‘They will never enter my rest.’” Yet his works had been finished since the world was founded. For somewhere he has spoken of the seventh day in these words: “And God rested on the seventh day from all his works.” And in this passage again: “They will never enter my rest.”

  2. ዕብራውያን 11:6

By faith Enoch was taken away so that he did not see death; he could not be found, because God had taken him away. Before he was taken, it was attested of him that he had pleased God. And no one can please God without faith, since anyone who approaches God has to believe both that he exists and that he repays those who search for him.
