For God, who was at work in Peter to make him an apostle to the circumcised, was also at work in me for the Gentiles. I am not ashamed of the gospel. It is God’s own power at work to save everyone who believes, the Jew first and the Greek as well.
To begin with, the Jews were entrusted with the very words of God.
Neno lililoamuliwa halitumiki katika: Halisi, Linganifu, Rahisi
were entrusted with πιστεύω usually means to believe or trust. In the passive with an object it means to be entrusted with something, as Paul says he was entrusted with the gospel (1 Thessalonians 2:4).
But now God’s righteousness has come to light apart from the law, though the Law and the Prophets bear witness to it. It is God’s righteousness through faith in Jesus Christ, for all who believe. No one is treated differently.
“Abraham believed God, and that was counted to him as righteousness.”
But to someone who does no work, yet believes in the God who declares the ungodly righteous, that faith is counted as righteousness. David says the same when he speaks of the happiness of the one whom God counts as righteous apart from works:
Circumcision was given to him afterward as a sign, a seal on the righteousness that was already his by faith before he was circumcised. In this way he is father to everyone who believes without being circumcised, so that righteousness is counted to them. And he is father to the circumcised as well: not to those who are merely circumcised, but to those who walk the same road of faith our father Abraham walked while still uncircumcised.
So the promise comes through faith, in order that it may rest on grace and stand firm for every one of Abraham’s offspring: not only for those who belong to the law, but also for those who belong to the faith of Abraham, the father of all of us. Scripture says, “I have made you father of many nations.” Before God he is our father, the God he believed, who brings the dead to life and calls into being things that do not exist.
Hoping when there was no ground for hope, Abraham believed, and so he became the father of many nations, as God had said to him, “That is how many your offspring will be.”
The words “it was counted to him” were not written for Abraham alone, but for us as well. It will be counted to us who believe in the God who raised Jesus our Lord from the dead. Jesus was handed over to die because of our trespasses, and he was raised so that we would be declared righteous.
Now if we died along with Christ, we believe we are also going to share in his life.
Because they did not pursue it by faith, but as though it came by works. They stumbled over the stone that makes people stumble, as it is written, “See, I am setting in Zion a stone to stumble on, a rock that makes them fall, and whoever believes in him will not be put to shame.”
For Christ is the end of the law, bringing righteousness to everyone who believes.
If you declare with your lips that Jesus is Lord, and in your heart believe that God raised him from the dead, then you will be saved.
For people believe with the heart, and this leads to righteousness; they confess with the mouth, and this leads to salvation.
For the Scripture says, “Whoever believes in him will not be put to shame.”
How, then, are they to call on him if they have not believed in him?
And how are they to believe in him if they have never heard him?
But not all have obeyed the gospel. Isaiah asks, “Lord, who has believed what we have told?”
Do this because you know what time it is: it is already time for you to wake up out of sleep. Our salvation is closer now than it was when we first believed.
One person believes it is right to eat anything, while another, who is weak, eats only vegetables.
May the God of hope fill you with joy and peace of every kind as you believe, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you overflow with hope.

So tongues serve as a sign, but the sign is for unbelievers, not for those who believe. Prophecy, on the other hand, is for those who believe, not for unbelievers.
Brothers and sisters, I am setting out for you once more the gospel I proclaimed to you. You received it, you stand firm in it, and through it you are being saved, if you keep hold of the message as I proclaimed it to you. Otherwise you came to believe for nothing.
In any case, whether it came from me or from them, this is the message we all proclaim, and this is the message you believed.

It is written, “I believed; that is why I spoke.” We have the same Spirit of faith as the one who wrote those words: we too believe, and that is why we too speak. For we know that the one who raised Jesus will also raise us with Jesus, and will bring us, together with you, into his presence.

As for those who were regarded as important (what they once were makes no difference to me, since God is not swayed by a person’s standing), those leaders added nothing to my message. On the contrary, they saw that I had been entrusted with the gospel for the uncircumcised, just as Peter had been for the circumcised. For God, who was at work in Peter to make him an apostle to the circumcised, was also at work in me for the Gentiles. James, Cephas and John, who were regarded as pillars, recognized the grace that had been given to me, and they gave Barnabas and me the right hand of fellowship. We agreed that we would go to the Gentiles and they to the circumcised.

entrusted with: God had given Paul the gospel to carry, as a trust πεπίστευμαι is a passive of the verb that usually means “believe”. With an object it means to be entrusted with something (1 Thessalonians 2:4; 1 Timothy 1:11). The passive leaves God as the one who gave the trust, as verse 8 makes plain.

We ourselves are Jews by birth, not Gentile sinners. Yet we know that no one is justified by works of the law; a person is justified only through faith in Jesus Christ. So we too have believed in Christ Jesus, in order to be justified by faith in Christ and not by works of the law, because no human being will be justified by works of the law.
So it was with Abraham: he believed God, and it was counted to him as righteousness.
But Scripture has locked up everything under the power of sin, so that what was promised might be given, on the ground of faith in Jesus Christ, to those who believe.

And you also are in him. You heard the message of truth, the gospel that brings you salvation, and you believed; and in him you were sealed with the Holy Spirit God had promised. The Spirit is the down payment on our inheritance, until God redeems those who are his own possession, so that his glory will be praised.
For this reason, since I heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love for all God’s holy people, I have never stopped thanking God for you. I mention you whenever I pray, asking the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, to give you the Spirit who brings wisdom and revelation as you come to know him. With the eyes of your heart opened to the light, you will know what hope his call holds out to you, how rich and glorious an inheritance he has in his holy people, and how far beyond all measure is his power at work for us who believe. It is the working of his mighty strength, which he put to work in Christ when he raised him from the dead and set him at his right hand in the heavenly places, high above every ruler and authority, every power and dominion, and every name that can be named, not only in this age but in the age to come as well.

Just one thing: live as citizens in a way worthy of the gospel of Christ. Then, whether I come and see you or am away and only hear about you, I will know that you are standing firm in one spirit, striving side by side as one for the faith of the gospel, and not letting your opponents frighten you in any way. This courage is a sign to them of their destruction, but of your salvation, and it comes from God. For God has given you the gift, for the sake of Christ, not only of believing in him but also of suffering for him. You are in the same contest that you once watched me face, and that you now hear I am facing still.

You became imitators of us and of the Lord. Though the word brought you great affliction, you received it with joy that came from the Holy Spirit, so that you set an example for every believer in Macedonia and Achaia.
Our preaching does not come from error or from impure motives, and it uses no deceit. Instead, God has tested us and approved us to be entrusted with the gospel, and that is how we speak: not to please people, but to please God, who tests our hearts.

God is our witness, and so are you: we lived among you believers in a way that was devout, just and without fault. You know how we treated each one of you as a father treats his own children. We urged you on, we comforted you, and we pleaded with you to live in a way that is worthy of God, who is calling you into his own kingdom and glory.
And we too give thanks to God without ceasing for this: when you received from us the word of God that you heard, you welcomed it not as a human message but as what it really is, God’s own word, which is now at work in you who believe.
We believe that Jesus died and rose again; and in the same way, through Jesus, God will bring with him those who have fallen asleep.

We are bound to thank God for you at all times, brothers and sisters, and rightly so, because your faith is growing beyond measure and the love every one of you has for the others keeps increasing. So we ourselves speak proudly of you among the churches of God, because of your endurance and faith in all the persecutions and troubles you are bearing. All this is evidence that God judges rightly, and the result will be that you are counted worthy of God’s kingdom, for which you are suffering. For it is right for God to repay with suffering those who make you suffer, and to give rest to you who suffer, as to us also, when the Lord Jesus appears from heaven with his mighty angels in a blaze of fire, bringing punishment on those who do not know God and on those who refuse to obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus. They will pay the penalty of eternal destruction, cut off from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of his power, on that day when he comes to be glorified among his holy people and marveled at by all who believed. And you are among those believers, for when we bore witness to you, you believed it.

That is why God sends them a deluding power, so that they put their trust in the lie, and judgment comes on all who refused to believe the truth and chose to take pleasure in what is wrong.

We know that the law is good, if it is used as it should be. We know that law is not made for people who do right, but for the lawless and the rebellious, the ungodly and sinners, those who have no regard for what is holy, those who kill their fathers or mothers, murderers, the sexually immoral, men who have sex with men, slave traders, liars, those who break their oaths, and whatever else goes against the sound teaching that agrees with the glorious gospel of the blessed God, which has been entrusted to me.

Here is a saying you can rely on, which deserves to be fully accepted: Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, and I am the worst of them. But I was shown mercy for this very reason: so that in me, the worst of all, Christ Jesus could show how completely patient he is, as an example for those who would come to believe in him and receive eternal life.
Beyond all question, the mystery of our faith is great: He was revealed in a human body, vindicated by the Spirit, seen by angels, proclaimed among the nations, believed in throughout the world, taken up in glory.

Tito matumizi 2
From Paul, a servant of God and an apostle of Jesus Christ. I was sent to bring God’s chosen people to faith and to the knowledge of the truth that leads to godliness, a faith and knowledge resting on the hope of eternal life. God, who never lies, promised this life before eternal ages began, and at the right time he made his word known through the preaching entrusted to me by the command of God our Savior. To Titus, my true son in the faith we share: grace and peace from God the Father and Christ Jesus our Savior.

For it is we who have believed who enter that rest, just as he has said, “So in my anger I swore an oath: ‘They will never enter my rest.’” Yet his works had been finished since the world was founded. For somewhere he has spoken of the seventh day in these words: “And God rested on the seventh day from all his works.” And in this passage again: “They will never enter my rest.”
By faith Enoch was taken away so that he did not see death; he could not be found, because God had taken him away. Before he was taken, it was attested of him that he had pleased God. And no one can please God without faith, since anyone who approaches God has to believe both that he exists and that he repays those who search for him.

You believe that God is one?
Well and good! The demons believe it too, and they tremble.
You can see that his faith worked together with his works, and his faith reached its goal through those works. So the Scripture came true that says, “Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness,” and he was called God’s friend.
1 Petro matumizi 3
You have never seen him, yet you love him. You do not see him even now, but you believe in him, and you are overjoyed with a joy that words cannot express, a joy already filled with glory, because you are receiving what your faith aims at: the salvation of your souls.
For this is what Scripture says: “See, I am placing in Zion a stone, a cornerstone, chosen and precious, and no one who believes in him will ever be put to shame.”
So the honor belongs to you who believe. But for those who do not believe, “The very stone the builders rejected has become the main cornerstone,” and “a stone they trip over, a rock that brings them down.” They trip because they refuse to obey the word, and this is the end to which they were appointed.

This is what God commands: that we believe in the name of his Son Jesus Christ, and that we love one another, following the command he gave us.
Dear friends, do not believe just any spirit; test the spirits to find out whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out and are now in the world.
We ourselves have come to know the love God has for us, and we believe it.
Everyone who believes that Jesus is the Christ has been born of God, and everyone who loves the Father loves the child born of him as well.
Who overcomes the world, if not the one who believes that Jesus is the Son of God?
Whoever believes in the Son of God has this testimony within. Whoever does not believe God has made him a liar, by refusing to believe the testimony God has given about his Son.
I have written these things to you so that you may know that you have eternal life—you who believe in the name of the Son of God.

Now I want to remind you of something, though you know it all already. Jesus saved a people out of the land of Egypt, but afterward he destroyed those among them who did not believe. And the angels who did not stay in the place of authority that was theirs, but abandoned their own dwelling, he has kept in everlasting chains in deepest darkness, ready for judgment when the great day comes.
